23 Weeks

Hello everyone! I'm still here and feeling o.k. I'm still uncomfortable.I guess it is to be expected.I did go to the doctor this Thursday and there is good and bad news. The good news is the babies are all really healthy still and they are getting really big. They've all grown to over a lb. in 2 weeks. 2 of the girls went from 12oz. to 1 lb. 1 oz, the other girl went from 13 oz. to 1 lb. 2 oz. and the big boy went from 15 oz. to 1 lb. 3 oz. We are very pleased with that. My blood pressure is still great! I am swelling quite a bit in my feet, ankles, toes, legs, fingers, face and nose! My doctor said that it is just water retention and it is to be expected, everyone gets it, it just multiplies with multiples. He is now concerned with the length of my cervix. It has shrunk over an inch in the past 2 weeks. For those of you who don't know...if it shrinks too far, I will go into labor. He mentioned the home monitoring kit that monitors for contractions. He said that he was going to talk to my specialist and they were going to make a decision about what happens next (monitoring kit, bed rest, etc...) by my next visit which is on Wednesday. I'll let you know then........stay tuned!

22 Weeks

Hi everyone! Sorry there was no post last week, but there wasn't much to tell. Not much has changed. I went to the doctor, but he just wanted to know how I was feeling and asked me if I had any questions. As for how I am feeling? I am extremely tired! I started back to work this week and I am exhausted. I don't know what I'm going to do next week when the kids start! My feet are now permanently swollen and I'm just uncomfortable. I don't sleep much at night. I'm starting to finally feel some movement. Sometimes it is painful. I guess because there are four. Nick has been so good to me eventhough sometimes I can be down right miserable. He gives me a backrub and belly rub every night to help me relax and get to sleep. He talks to my belly and gives his children a kiss. We are so excited for the next ultrasound. I'm not sure when that will be, but I will post again soon!

20 Week Checkup

Hello everyone! Nick and I went to the specialist and he was very happy. The babies are all doing well and are all healthy. They have all of their fingers and toes and all of their inside body parts are developing normally. All of the babies are what they call "transverse", which means that they are all laying horizontally across my stomach, stacked one on top of the other. They can change positions at any time though. That is probably all that stretching I have been feeling lately. Baby Girl A is at the bottom and she weighs 12 oz. Baby Boy B is above her weighing the most, 15 oz. Baby Girl C is next and she weighs 13 oz., followed by Baby Girl D at the top. She weighs 12 oz. They have long legs. The doctor said "Wow, they have long legs!" Thank God for Daddy! They sure didn't get those from me. The doctor is happy with everything except my weight. He says I have not gained enough weight and wants me to gain more! I've already gained 30 lbs! He says the more I gain, the more the babies gain. I have to start taking in more calories over the rest of the weeks. I was also told that I could start the school year. He said eventually I would have to stop working, but I could work for now. I asked about hopsital bedrest, when that would happen. He told me that hospital bedrest would only occur if I began showing signs of preterm labor. He said that it would do me more harm than good. Home rest would be better when the time comes. We'll see how it goes. So, I am back to work next week and I have another doctor's appt. next week with my OB on Thursday. After that, I will go every 2 weeks, until there is a change. We still can't believe what a miracle this really is and how lucky we really are. Yes, there will be big changes and sacrifices to make, but we think it's worth it. I'm already looking forward to holidays! I will update again next Thursday. Talk to you then!

20 Weeks

I am still feeling pretty good this week. I've noticed I have more stretch marks and my feet are pretty much swollen anytime I stand on them for more than 20 minutes. I've had lots of visitors to keep me busy over the last 3 weeks. I don't know what I'm going to do once they're all gone. I will be resting and bored, I guess. That's what I'm supposed to be doing. I guess I will start crosstitching. I have an appt. on Thursday. I'll let you know what happens then!
