6 Months Old

Hi everyone!

I know I haven't posted in about 10 days, but it's been very bust around here. We did take the kids to church on Easter Sunday and they were extremely good. They slept most of the time! I was a little nervous though because, of course, of all places to sit...in the whole church....a little girl and her dad sat behind us and she had what seemed to be a cold. She was sneezing, sniffling, and coughing. I was hoping it was just allergies. I guess I was right because the kids seem to be o.k.

I have some video this week of Ava and Luke rolling over. Sarah rolled over once this week, but hasn't done it since, so I think it was a fluke! Lily has not rolled over yet, but if you put her on her stomach she can hold herself up pretty good. Ava has began scooching. If you turn your head for one minute while she is on her stomach, she's gone. She moves quick. I haven't even seen her scooch yet, but she's obviously doing it to get where she is going! The kids new thing this week in anticipating when you are going to tickle them. They love it. I took video of that as well. They giggle so loud! It's cute. I'm not sure if Lily is ticklish though because she does not laugh like the others do when I tickle her. Lily & Ava love to talk to you! Luke just learned how loud he can be! He screams (happy screams)all morning and says oooh, constantly! We have not been to the doctors in forever, so it seems. We will be going the end of the week.

We had a ton of visitors this week, especially this weekend! Most of whom were a surprise! My Mom 1st cousins were vacationing in Disney with their grandchildren and they stopped down for a visit for a few hours on Friday. Saturday my Uncle Joe and Aunt Kathleen popped in for a surprise visit as well. They were wonderful surprises! We also had another visit from Nick's Aunt Kris and Uncle Robert on Saturday! We had a great time! Then Today, Sunday, my friends from work came by to visit with the kids and Heather's new baby boy Brandt! What a busy weekend......A lot of fun! We are lucky to have such fabulous people in our lives!!!

Speaking of fabulous people....Nana is coming for a visit the end of this week! We are anxiously awaiting her arrival! Her grandchildren are going to be so excited to see her!

I hope I haven't forgotten to tell you all anything or forgot to mention anyone. Like I said, it was a busy week!

I'll update you all again by the end of the weekend...so we can have some new weights to talk about. I know they are all getting big, but I'm anxious to know how much they have gained and what new things I should be doing/trying with them!

HAPPY EASTER!!! 23 Weeks

 

Hello! This week seems to have been a week of firsts.

We had 2 babies roll over. Ava was first! So whomever guessed her, guessed right! At first we didn't see her do it, but saw her on her belly with her head up and all....We didn't believe she did it, so we rolled her back over and sure enough, she did...of course it took a little while and we don't have her on camera, but she did it! She rolled over on Sunday, April 5th....YAY Ava!

Luke also rolled over this week. We saw him do it...like he had been doing it forever...."BAG OF SHELLS", as Pop Pop would say! He rolled over and went right up onto his elbows...strong boy....he's definitely a Trullinger! He rolled over on Tuesday, April 7th......AWESOME Luke!

Sarah and Lily have not done it yet, but Sarah reaches her feet and brings them up to her chest and grabs them...that's new. Lily rocks back and forth...getting the momentum going..she should be rolling over any day now! Lily and Sarah also grab at the animals haning down in the gym. Sarah pulled so hard, she pulled one off!

They all seem to be very social with each other. The have their own language! They also realize what the crib is...when I put them in it, they know it's naptime or bedtime. Lily and Ava are good girls when it's time; just put the binkies in their mouths and they are good to go.......Sarah and Luke on the other hand, UGGGHHH!!! They hate naptime. As soon as I lay Luke down, he gives me a mug and starts crying, even if he is exhausted. His cry sounds like the high pitch of an ambulance siren, it's killer! Sarah cries as soon as you put her in and walk away. She makes herself sick, literally! It's a sin! I hope them get over it soon!

We also went on our first mall outting...to see, none other than..... the Easter Bunny! What a trip that was! I did not realize that so many people actually shop around Easter. Here I thought if we get there as soon as it opens and get in and out, we'll be fine. YEAH RIGHT! The mall was mobbed! I forgot, this week is Spring Break for the school kids! My mom and I tried to just walk and not make eye contact with people, but that didn't work. People were staring (burning a hole through me), screaming and saying Oh, My, God!...out loud...causing more attention from other people. I hate attention! I guess I need to get over it fast if I ever want to go anywhere with my kids! It took forever, just to get to the Easter Bunny! It's funny though, most of the people that were the most fascinated, were the elderly! Thy are so cute and had such nice things to say! People were very good though, they did not touch! The Easter Bunny was fun and quick!

Oh, by the way! When I tell people that the kids love to watch American Idol and Dancing with the Stars, no one believes me! So, there is a clip of the kids watching American Idol this week!

22 Weeks

Hello!

Sorry it has taken me so long to post. There has been a lot going on and I've just been tired. Things are going well though. The quads were Christened on March 22nd. Thanks to all those who helped. My Grandmom, Laurie, and her mom, Gail, flew in for the ceremony. Those who couldn't make it, you were missed, but we took pictures for you. We had quite a few visitors at the Christening and the after party. My Mom's cousin (mine too) Debbie stopped by yesterday as she was visiting with friends in Punta Gorda. It was a great visit!

The quads have become quite active lately. There have been no rollovers yet, but there have been some close calls. There is a lot of socializing going on. They are now starting to realize that they all exist. They are begining to talk to each other. They are all smiling big and laughing and require a whole lot more attention. They want to be talked to and played with and they yell if they are bored. It's quite funny, actually, but at the same time, with four, it leaves you with no time to get anything done. I wouldn't trade it for anything in the world though!

They are growing very fast. I'm not sure how much they weigh, they go to the doctor next month for a well check up, so I'll get their official weights then. I'll guestimate though. I think Luke weighs about 15 lbs, no lie! He is huge, but solid. Lily probably weighs around 14lbs. Sarah is around 12.5 lbs and Ava is around 11 lbs. I'm just guessing...it may be more. You can tell how fast they are growing just by looking at the pictures.

Ava's feeding therapy is going well. We were going every week, but we go again in three weeks. The therapist believes that she is doing very well. Maybe she won't need therapy anymore.

I have finally finished the scrapbook, thanks to Laurie's help and my mom, Gail, and Grandmom watching and feeding the kids while we finished at 10:30 at night. I also went through a lot of their clothes that they seem to be growing out of at a rapid weight. Some things they have only wore one or two times! Time to make a GoodWill trip, or save for other friends who had or are having babies. Pregnancy is spreading like wildfire at work. I had mine in October, another had one in January, one just had one a week and a half ago and two more are pregnant and due in October. Let the good times roll!

We were also on the front page of the local paper this week. We decided to do it because of the Octomom and all that craziness. It really focuses on fertility issues to show that there are valid reasons to seek the help of a fertility specialist. I'll post the link if you are interested in seeing the article. There were pictures in the paper, but they weren't posted on the web, but they are in these photos attached. It was titled Precious Miracles: Completing a Family.


We are looking forward to some visitors in the weeks to come. Nana is coming for another visit in April, Aunt Tara and Kara are coming for visits in May. Anyone else coming? Just let us know! We love visitors!

My goal this week: Get their photo albums caught up to date!

21 Weeks Old

Hello All!

It's been a fantastic week. Theya re all doing well and we believe we have them all on a pretty good schedule now! The eat at 6am, 10am, 2pm (nap), 6pm, & 11pm. I'm sure something will happen to mess it up! I heard teething is the worst. I guess that will be starting next....

Sarah had her first try of feeding with a spoon this week. She didn't like it too much! We'll keep practicing. Ava is just smiling constantly! Lily seems to wake up crying in the morning. She is happy when she sees you though...she is smiling from ear to ear! I swear, Luke is going to skip crawling all together. He wants to walk!

Nikki and George brought the kids Phillies Champion Onsies for when they are a year! Perfect timing for this upcoming season! GO PHILLIES!
Great Granny D just came in today. She'll be here for a week! Aunt Laurie & Gail are coming in on Saturday. We're excited to see them all. The Christening is this Sunday. I'll post pictures of it next week.
Ava is still going to therapy. Nick and I took Sarah with us today, so that my mom only had two at home...it ws a nice trip out. The weather has been beautiful....80 and breezy...just perfect!

5 Months Old

This week seemed to fly by like the others. It went so fast, I feel like there is nothing new to report. Everyone is doing very well and getting so big. Today I tried to put Luke in something and it was 0-3 months. It didn't fit. It was so tight...I couldn't believe it. He never even got to wear it. So, I had Christening dresses which my mother-in-law had purchased for them, thinking at the time that 0-3 months would fit. I had to take them all back today, and of course, they didn't have them in any bigger size. They said they are doing away with that department. So I had to hurry up and order them online because they are getting Baptized on March 22nd. It will take 2-3 days.....I hope!!!!

Another thing about Luke...he puts off soo much heat. He is always sweating it seems. I don't understand. He's not sick. His temp. had been fine. I guess he's just a sweat..er?? He is solid. He's a big boy.

Ava had her first round of feeding therapy today. She has to go once a week every Wednesday at 10:00am. It's an hour drive. She may have to go more than once a week. Didn't you know I have that much time on my hands for just her! Thank God Nick and I have help. So, back to the feeding therapy. Since she has issues swallowing (going down her windpipe), she has feeding therapy to teach her to eat the right way and teach me ways to improve her eating habits since she is a terrible eater. The therapist told me to start feeding her rice cereal. That should be fun! They said she may have problems with her speech as she gets older, but just because she has feeding therapy, doesn't mean she definitely will have speech problems. Stay tuned on that one!

Sarah has become happy baby this week. She coos and plays and is definitely a morning baby! She is so happy when she first wakes up. She is so funny. She also loves to poop when you are feeding her. She thinks it's hilarious! Therefore she doesn't eat very well. It's cute, but it does get frustrating after a while.

Lily is just always happy, but always wants to be held. She was very unhappy tonight, which is unusual. That is why I am so late writing this. We couldn't get her to calm down. She was having a crying fit and she finally fell asleep. Now the trick is to get her up to eat later...that will be fun!

Not much else to report. Oh, Nick got a guitar. He bought it from our accountant, who is in a band. Nick finally got a book today to learn how to play. I'm sure he'll have lots of fun with it. Now I need to find something for me to drown myself in when I have some free time. I still plan on finishing my scrapbook this week and get some pictures in order.

19 Weeks Old

This week has been busy! Great Aunt Susanne left and so it's been hectic getting used to one less person helping. She left us high and dry! All I have to say is Thank God for cereal! The kids have been doing pretty well sleeping through the night, except for Ava. She has been having a rough time adjusting, still. Sarah used to be the demanding one, not it's definitely Ava. She's either really happy or she's crying or throwing a tantrum! She's pretty strong too! She was so mad in her gym a few days ago that she scooted herself all the way around the mat in a complete circle and then ended up on the rug! She still is spitting up quite a bit...the reflux...my gosh! Will it ever end. She had a gastroenterology appt. on Monday and she looks great, but has to stay on the reflux meds (Prevacid & Reglan). He said it will get worse before it gets better. Sarah had her last cardiology appointment today. She is free and clear! YAY!

We ordered two more cribs and hope to have them by next week. We'd really like to have the kids room finished....someday. I'm also hoping to finish the scrapbook I started, work on the babies books this upcoming week, and get some of my pictures in albums! I'm feeling very ambitious for next week, aren't I? Nick is also doing well...he has been working a lot! We're still hoping and praying for full time soon!

A special thanks to Great Aunt Susanne for all of her help last week eg.(sleepless nights, dinners, helping change up the schedule with cereal. We had a wonderful visit with her and I'm sure the kids will miss her....we already do! When did you say you were coming back???

We're looking forward to many visitors in the weeks and months to come...and hopefully get the o.k. from the doctor to soon go out with the kids on a real trip! Darn RSV season....yuck!

18 Weeks Old

Hello Again!

Another day late and another day older! It's getting tough keeping up, even with the extra help. My Aunt Susanne is down visiting until March 1st. She has been a big help. Ava is now eating with the rest of them, but still getting her two medicines. We started giving the kids rice cereal in their bottles at night so that they sleep. So far so good. The last feeding is between 10:30-11:30pm at night and the first two up are usually Sarah & Ava. I guess because they only eat between 4-5 oz. a feed. They are up around 5:00am-5:30am. Not bad, huh? Lily & Luke eat between 6-7oz. a feed, so they sleep a little bit longer. They all seem to be adjusting well. It's quite a learning experience! Frustrating as well...who are we kidding?

They did go for their shots and check-up on February 19th and the results are::::::
Sarah: 9 lbs. 8 oz. 22 in. long
Luke: 11 bs. 13 oz. 23 1/2 in. long
Ava: 9 lbs. 2 oz. 21 3/4 in. long
Lily: 11 lbs. 3 oz. 23 3/4 in. long

They have grown a great amount since the last visit. They doctor is very pleased. We are still not allowed to take them out in public, but Nick and I snuck them out to have their first portrait done today....a spring picture! They look so cute...we get them in a few weeks. Of course I will post a few. I never realized how expensive it is! I guess that's why most people only get it done once a year.

I forgot to mention that Early Steps came out to evaluate them to let us know where they are all developmentally. Because they are preemies, they develop at the gestational age (Dec. 21st) versus the day they were actually born (Oct. 11th). Right now, they are all right where they are supposed to be as a whole. There were a few above averages....Sarah & Ava are above average in their cognitive abilities, Luke is above average in motor skills, and Lily is above average in the social/emotional areas. It all averages out in the end they said. They all look great though!

They have inherited some new nicknames as well over the past week. Luke, since his head has gotten extremely large and most of his hair has fallen out with the exception of a little in the back, has been called everything from Peter Boyle (the father from Everybody Loves Raymond), to Humpty Dumpty (egg shaped head), to Lex Luther (courtesy of my Dad). Luke just laughs at it all. He thinks everything is hilarious. Sarah has been called Bino (my name as a baby) and still holds the title of the Screaming Mimi (she can be a little fuss budget!). Ava has a few nicknames as well...Miss B (because she has a case of bulimia...she loves to puke after she eats!) and she also earns the title this week for drama queen. She is constantly whining for attention and her cry sounds so fake. Lily has been called everything from Lily the Load to Jumbo and Beefcake. I know, it sounds mean, but we mean it in the cutest way possible...she will never get those names when she knows what's going on. It's a way that we all laugh to keep our sanity. She is however, the most complacent baby right now! She smiles a lot and is very happy most of the time.

They have a few choice places to go for fun....swingtown (which my Aunt Susanne named because of all of the swings going at the same time) or Romper Room (which my Mom named the gyms that lay on the floor). My Aunt Susanne and I took them all for their first wak yesterday. They had a great time. We can't use the big quad stroller because they are too small just yet, so I bought two double strollers to hold us over until they can fit. I guess they will come in handy incase we can only take two at a time somewhere or we have to split up. I just couldn't sit in the house anymore. I had to get out and I had to exercise! I haven't been out in the sun so long that I got extremely burnt after only an hour and a half. I should have worn sunblock I guess. I just didn't think the sun would be that strong this time of year. I was wrong....and very pale! Now I am a lobster.

Oh, one side note...I forgot to mention that my friend Jenny gave me a pedicure when she came over the last time...it was great! She did a great job and it felt wonderful! What great friends I have....who would be willing to touch my feet?
